I participated (and failed) last round on my book blog: The Fake Steph Dot Com. However, this is a more appropriate space for these posts and I’m hoping that I will be much more successful in round three. My major goal will be to increase writing time without affecting work or working out.
Goal for before the round starts: Finish the zero draft (thanks Ashelynn, I’m stealing your word) of SMG.
Goals for Round Three:
- 500 words or 30 minutes rewriting at least 5 days a week.
- Miss no more than three check-ins during the round.
Projects to work on:
- Fantasy novel zero draft
- YA1 rewrite
The queue for if I don’t fail miserably:
- The superhero screenplay board and draft
- rewrite YA1
- rewrite SMG
- The Friend Breakup Screenplay board and draft
ah, how I love zero drafts . . . except for when I’m staring one in the face. (Like I am right now, ha ha ha ha.)
good luck, Steph! we can both not fail miserably this round!
We are going to win miserably!
hee! <3
A zero draft… I like it! Good luck on ROW80.
I’m doing Row80 too. Good luck on your goals!
Good goals, Steph – real or fake I think you’re okay. Nice to see someone use the term “zero draft” besides me. I think it is a way of reminding ourselves not to take that first run too seriously, which I find helps. All the best for the coming round, you’re going to do fantastic!
Zero draft? That sounds interesting! What does it involve?
Oh, uh, and good luck this round. Something something – tell me what zero draft is :3
zero draft is basically a rough draft. It’s one you write just to get it down on paper with absolutely no expectations and you call it a zero draft because you are letting it be so bad that you can’t even call it a first draft. Ashelynn explains it better. Like…in my zero draft, i forgot the stepmoms name and instead of reading back through to find it, I just wrote [stepmom] in place of her name and i’ll fix it when i turn it into a first draft.
Bah, WordPress ate my comment. Silly thing.
Redo!
So, Zero Draft is what I’ve been doing for Fast Draft, just with a much cooler name. Awesome to know! I’ll have to poke around about it. Thanks!
I love using brackets that way. The search and replace tool ends up becoming my best friend during editing…
So it won’t let me reply again, because I have my settings set poorly, but… I totally just signed up for Fast Draft and Revision Hell.
Oh good, I’m not the only one.
FD/RH has been so wonderful to me so far. I mean, that is, if I’d stop commenting on blogs. *cough* Vicious cycle and all that.
